Internship of the students of MIT Sloan School of Management under Global entrepreneurship lab program in DESI_MANTRA

The Global Entrepreneurship Lab Program of MIT Sloan School of Management sponsors internship for its MBA students in private sector companies. DESI Power was added to their list in 2006 and four women students selected DESI Power for preparing a Business Plan, which would make DESI_MANTRA a self-sustaining entity. The highly motivated and hardworking team spent three weeks in Baharbari and Bangalore, working very closely with DESI Power staff and village partners to understand the EmPower Partnership model, study DESI_MANTRA’s plans and gather first hand information and details. The students visited the project sits, interviewed the stakeholders and shared their skills and experience with the women (and men) working on the projects. The Business Plan being prepared by them is expected to be ready by the endof this month. A Plan Of Action for implementing the recommendations will be worked out soon afterwards.
