Partnership Program Declared a Winner at the World Bank Global
Development Marketplace Competition 2006 in Washington with a prize of
US$ 200,000
The World Bank Global
Development Marketplace 2006 attracted over 2500 applications from
around the world. 118 proposals were selected for the final selection
and exhibition in Washington on May 8/9 and out of which 30 were
declared winners by the Jury. We are told DESI Power’s proposal topped
the list.
We consider the award as a
recognition of the role that decentralised power supply and energy
services are destined to play in removing poverty from the rural areas
of the Third World.
